Yes, you are seeing Karston with a black eye! The only reason I am posting this is because this is like my journal, and I want to remember what happened! The story: Karston fell down the stairs...period!
It was horrible!
It was Thursday morning and I was home with him. We block the stairs with a chair because we can't find a stupid gate that works with our stairs...we have tried like 3...anyway, he got through the chair, and he started to whine and then I heard the tumbling and ran over there and watched him hit the last three stairs and smack his head and face so hard on the hardwood floor at the bottom of the stairs! I waited to see if he was knocked out, but he lifted his little head and just started screaming so I picked him up. It was the most aweful feeing I have had in long time! I started to shake and just bawl! I made sure his pupils were normal, and they were but when I was saying his name to try to get to look at me...he wouldn't! He was kinda out of it. He just wanted to lay on me. So I put him on the floor to see if he would look, and he did for just a minute. Then I cryed some more. His head above his black eye was a huge goose egg and a scratch, that was already a bruise. He just wanted to go to sleep, but I wasn't letting him. I tried to calm down, but couldn't really, so I called Jay and he couldn't even understand me. I just kept saying Karston fell down the stairs and hit his head, over and over. Jay was on his way home. Next phone call, to my mom. Same thing. She got to my house about 15 minutes after Jay had! By then he was acting a little bit better, and once he saw grandma, he was smiling! Oh he was a little more alert now...I think he is okay. I kept him up for and hour and a half before we let him go to sleep. We woke him up after about 45 minutes, and he was okay so we let him go back to sleep. Checking on him every 10 minutes. I didn't need to take him to the e.r. thank goodness. I was nausious!
This was the second time he had fallen down the stairs...which why I couldn't believe I let it happen again. The first time Jay was home with me, and Karston didn't get one bump or bruise on him. Look at him now...
The day before this all happend...
I ran over Jaydyn's little black kitty, that she loves oh so much!! I didn't even know I did until my car was in the garage and I went to the other side to get Karston out and almost stepped on a dead kitty, that looked like she was sleeping. I had to pickJaydyn up from school 10 minutes after this happened. I called Jay crying saying I hit the kitty, and he couldn't understand me. When he heard kitty and not kid...he was okay. I scared him. He said not to do that...because he thinks it's the kids every time I call him upset. So the second day I call him freaking out...and it's a kid! Poor guy, two days in a row he gets phone calls of me bawling!! OOPS!!
Anyway...the pictures I took today and yesterday...it looks more black and purple today! It's been 2 days!
I feel HORRIBLE still...
He sure is my big boy!! He was so skinny and dainty for so long when he was first born and now he is my little chunker! He beefed right up. He gained a pound in not even two weeks! AMAZING! He should lose a pound or two because he is crawling...not this guy though! I absolutly love it! Not when I am lugging him around in a carseat or something, but he sure is fun to squeeze!! He is such a happy baby, and such a good baby! I have it too easy sometimes I think with him! I am not complaining though! I love every minute with him!
The next day...on her birthday she had a friend party! This was her very first friend party! She wanted to go to Libery Land in Lehi with all her friends! So that is what Jay and I did! We had 12 kids total go...and it actually went really well! It was too cute watching her with all her friends and cousins! They had a blast! After, we came back home to do more presents and more cake and ice cream! I think Jaydyn had a great couple of days celebrating her birthday!! She was wore out!!
